Mifepriston ist eine synthetische Steroidverbindung mit sowohl Antiprogesteron- als auch Antiglukokortikoid-Eigenschaften. Die Verbindung ist ein 19-Nor-Steroid mit Substitutionen an den Positionen C11 und C17 (17 Beta-Hydroxy-11 Beta-[4-Dimethylaminophenyl] 17 Alpha-[1-Propinyl]extra-4, 9-dien-3-one), welches die Wirkung von Cortisol auf Rezeptorebene kompetitiv antagonisiert.
Mifepriston ist ein Progesteronrezeptorantagonist, der in den ersten Monaten der Schwangerschaft als Abtreibungsmittel eingesetzt wird, und in kleineren Dosen als Notfallverhütungsmittel. Es ist auch ein starker Glukokortikoidrezeptor-Antagonist,
Anwendung:
Mifepriston spielt eine Rolle auf der Rezeptorebene neuer Antifruchtbarkeitsmedikamente, kein Progesteron, Androgen, Östrogenaktivität. Es hat eine Wirkung auf die Erweichung und Erweiterung des Gebärmutterhalses. Es ist ein neues Anti – Progesteron, und Anti-Glukokortikoid-Aktivität, ohne Progesteron, Östrogen, Androgen- und Östrogenaktivität. Und die Progesteronrezeptor-Affinität ist 5 mal stärker als Progesteron.
